I paid the max amount into ss over the years. Applied for SS at 62. The ss office rep said it was the best choice.
At 70 I found part time work. $1200 is deducted from my wages per year for SS
I thought that $ would go into my ss account and my monthly benifit would be slightly increased . Wrong!
When I inquired at the ss office about this the rep actually laughed and said the money would not go into my account but into a general fund and none of will ever help me
I have worked for 9 years now . Thats 10800 $ and growing.
Why can't this SS deduction from my wages be applied to my account ?
Since my benifits can not be increased why is any SS money deducted in the first place?

I am sorry to hear about the frustration you seem to be having with Social Security Administration. I t really doesn't make any sense that they are not accepting any applications without offering a good reason. Could there just be a facility issue at the office to deal with? It is my understanding that there is the ability to sign up for social security online and that may be the solution to your current problem. I honestly cannot offer any other advice as I have not and do not deal directly with that administration on any matters. Best of luck

Back in November my wife paid back her SOC benefit that she had started this year. The government cashed the check. Were going to refile under my SOC and now they are not accepting any applications. This really hurts, don't know what to do? We have had many meetings set up to refile but they were canceled because of various excuses. Had no record of our appointment, when we received a letter and phone call verifing. Have another set for the 18th, doubtful that anything would be accomplished at this meeting a the SOC office. In closing any advice appreciated.
I am 68 and my wife is 66. Regards, Frank
