Liars And Tiger And Bears – Oh My!

It is truly a delicate world that we live in today. As we read the papers, or listen to the news, we all are aware of the many serious situations that make up our world today. War, recession, murder, H1N1 and other serious and tragic circumstances make the news both riveting and frightening. So let’s take a microscopic look at the news of today…

Michaele and Tareq Salahi, husband and wife reality show wanna-be’s elude the White House Secret Service and crash the President’s Annual Steak Dinner, making it through security and the invite list. While this may seem to be just another grasp at 15 minutes of fame, the fact is that they by-passed security, proving the President’s Secret Service posse does indeed need a re-do. Not only is it egg on the White House face, it bears a more serious look at just how safe our President is-so much for the “liars” of the storyline.

The United Arab Emerites announced that it won’t make its interest payment of $60 million dollars, asking for a 6 month extension. The overseas markets take a big dip for two days following the announcement- here’s the bear.

In a tragic incident, four decorated police officers in Washington were executed by a gunman in a coffee shop leaving families and 9 children without a parent and partner. My heart goes out to the families of these heroic officers. Oh my…

I’m thinking by now you know who the Tiger is…Tiger Woods. Now I ask you- do you have a closet in your house? Have you ever had a disagreement with your spouse or partner? Ever have a fender bender? Ever lost your temper (no…not YOU!) The news is awash with speculation about what the accident was about, if Tiger had an affair as reported by the Enquirer (and we know how reliable this source is) and if wife Elin scratched his face. He removed himself from his golf tournament this week, citing his injuries as reason to pass up playing.

His big three sponsors have all stated that they have no intention of terminating contracts, that the incident is part of his personal life and, well, that’s that. So if these companies can flatly say that they don’t care, why is the public so enamored with the incident? While I admire him for his golfing expertise and the many charities and children he has benefited, when you look at the severity of the situation against the US losing over 500 children and counting to H1N1, do we really need to know or spend more time speculating about what happened?

It’s time to care about what really counts- all the other stuff is small —-. Focus people, focus…
